Who We’re Looking For
Jaxel is seeking a Senior Network Engineer who bridges the worlds of traditional networking, carrier telecommunications, and modern/legacy voice systems. This is a hybrid role that requires a deep understanding of how voice and video traffic traverse different types of networks.
What You’ll Do

Design and implement high-availability voice and transport solutions across hybrid environments.

Manage telecom circuits and coordinate with carriers for provisioning and troubleshooting.

Support and optimize Cisco and Avaya voice systems, including call routing and device management.

Automate configuration and monitoring tasks using scripting and APIs.

Conduct advanced troubleshooting for voice quality, connectivity, and performance issues.

Maintain documentation and provide training to global teams.
What You’ll Need
-
In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies, including VLANs, VTP, Spanning Tree, routing, and switching.

Expertise in applying QoS policies to ensure voice and video traffic is prioritized.

Experience with WAN technologies including MPLS and various internet transport methods.

Proficiency in designing and managing telecom circuits such as SIP trunks and coordinating with carriers.

Knowledge of physical infrastructure including cabling, racks, and environmental controls.

Extensive experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).

Experience with Cisco TelePresence and Avaya Communication Manager.

Deep knowledge of PBX systems and VOIP protocols such as SIP and H.323.

Experience with cloud-based voice platforms like Zoom Phone and Vonage.

Experience with Cisco Contact Center Express (UCCX) or similar platforms like NICE Call Center as a Service.

Proficiency in Python and Bash for automating network tasks.

Expertise in using REST APIs for automation and integration.

Advanced troubleshooting skills for resolving complex issues.

Project management experience for upgrades, migrations, and deployments.

Strong documentation skills for system architecture and procedures.

Experience working with telecom carriers and vendors.
